The UK-based technology company Altitude Angel, known for its drone traffic management systems, was placed under administration on 7 October 2025, according to a statement on the company’s website. Two administrators from FRP Advisory, Andy John and Geoff Rowley, have been appointed as joint administrators of Altitude Angel Ltd. The move may affect the support and further development of some of the company’s services, including the Dutch GoDrone app.

Administration Procedure Initiated

The company announcement states that the appointed administrators act on behalf of Altitude Angel “without personal liability.” This confirms that the company is experiencing financial difficulties and is now under the supervision of an insolvency office. In the UK, this legal procedure is designed either to avoid bankruptcy or to facilitate a potential business rescue.

The administration could directly affect the continued development of certain applications developed by Altitude Angel, such as GoDrone, a Dutch drone app created in cooperation with Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL). GoDrone is widely used for flight preparation and, for professional operators, to request clearances for flights in controlled airspace.

Dronewatch has reached out to LVNL for comment on what the current situation might mean for the continuity of the app and its collaboration with Altitude Angel.

Background

Founded in 2014, Altitude Angel quickly established itself as a leading player in digital air traffic infrastructure for drones. The company developed, among other things, the Arrow network in the UK, a platform that enables real-time air traffic information sharing between drones and aviation authorities.

It remains uncertain whether Altitude Angel will be able to restructure successfully with the assistance of the appointed administrators.
